Projects!

First project of the year! We had to draw this picture upside down! This is the end result when I flipped mine right side up. It's easier than it looks, and it seriously helps with your drawings.
  • Step 1: Pick out the picture you want to draw. Get your sketch book and pencils.
  • Step 2: Turn the picture upside and leave it that way. Look over the picture until you start seeing the small details rather than just the picture as a whole.
  • Step 3: Start drawing your image upside down. Focus on one thing at a time and don't get ahead of yourself. DON'T CHEAT
  • Step 4: Once you've completed your drawing, flip it right side up and look at your completed masterpiece!
Doing this enough helps you focus on drawing what you see in front of you, rather than drawing what you see in your head. The problem a lot of people have with drawing is that they get ahead of themselves and start drawing what they THINK something should look like, rather than focusing on what it ACTUALLY looks like. This is a great exercise to improve your drawing skills. I know I'm going to continue doing it.

This was my first Drawing and Perspective project. We drew a two point perspective interior room. It's super easy to do and really fun! I'll put up a tutorial for this later. By the way, this is my dream room! You can tell how completely and totally geeky I am from this.....Oh well! Geek pride!
